A strategic location for cyclists
Hotel Hanny enjoys a privileged position for anyone choosing the bicycle as their way of discovering South Tyrol: the cycle path that crosses the region runs directly alongside our property. From here you can set off without having to deal with city traffic, steep climbs or uncomfortable stretches – just a few metres separate you from the start of your route.
The historic centre of Bolzano can be reached in about 20 minutes on foot along the Talvera promenade, in 4-5 minutes by car or in just a few minutes’ cycling on the path that runs right next to the hotel.
Services for cyclists
We know how important it is, for those travelling with their own bike, to find a well-equipped property attentive to cyclists’ needs. At Hotel Hanny we provide everything you need for a worry-free e-bike holiday:
- Lockable garage with gate your bikes are kept safe throughout the night in a protected area reserved exclusively for hotel guests.
- 10 charging stations you can comfortably recharge your e-bike battery overnight and be ready to set off again the next morning.
- Small workshop with washing area for basic maintenance, a quick brake adjustment, or simply to restore your bike’s shine after a day on the trails.
For those not travelling with their own bike, rental is not available directly at the hotel, but in the city centre (about 1.5 km away) you’ll find several specialised providers with a wide selection of e-bikes, mountain bikes and e-MTBs. We’ll gladly recommend the rental shops we trust.

From Bolzano, some of the most beautiful cycle paths in South Tyrol branch out, capable of taking you in a single day from the vineyards of the Oltradige all the way to the high plateaus above 1,200 metres. Here are some of the routes we love to suggest to our guests.
Oltradige: San Paolo, Appiano and Caldaro
The heart of South Tyrolean wine country. You’ll cycle past rows of vines, historic farmsteads and characteristic villages all the way to Lake Caldaro, the largest swimmable lake in the province. A perfect itinerary for a relaxing day, with the chance to alternate cycling with pleasant gastronomic stops along the way.
Merano along the Adige Valley
One of South Tyrol’s most popular cycle paths: over 30 kilometres of gentle gradient that follow the course of the Adige through apple orchards, past ancient castles and historic villages, all the way to the elegant spa town of Merano. The return journey by train with your bike is easy and frequent.
Bressanone along the Isarco Valley
Heading north along the course of the Isarco: a ride steeped in history and nature, leading to the ancient bishop’s town of Bressanone, with its Cathedral, the gardens of the Bishop’s Palace and the medieval atmosphere of its narrow streets.
Renon (Ritten)
The panoramic plateau that rises above Bolzano to the northeast, with lush green meadows, traditional farmsteads and a breathtaking view of the Catinaccio and Sciliar Dolomites. Easily reached thanks to the connection with the Renon cable car, which carries you and your bike comfortably up to altitude.
Colle (Kohlern)
Bolzano’s "home mountain", rising to the south of the city. A demanding climb that with the e-bike becomes an enjoyable challenge, rewarded by striking views of Bolzano and the surrounding mountain ranges.
